The 30th ISAPS World Congress runs from October 27 to 31, 2026, at the Cancun Center in Mexico, with the pre-congress day on the 27th and the main program from the 28th to the 31st. It is the world’s leading meeting for aesthetic plastic surgeons, and five days go by fast. Whether this is your first ISAPS or your tenth, a little planning makes the difference between a tiring week and one that changes how you practice. Here is how to get the most out of it.
Plan your agenda before you land
The scientific committee received more than 700 abstracts, so you cannot see everything. Pick your priorities in advance and build a day-by-day plan in the congress app. This year’s program has a few tracks worth flagging:
- The new AI panel. A first for ISAPS, and a good place to understand how artificial intelligence is entering consultations, planning and patient communication.
- Surgical and non-surgical technologies. Useful for comparing techniques and devices you are considering for your practice.
- Patient safety culture. Practical lessons you can bring back to your team the following week.
- Business school. Sessions on growing and running a practice, often the most underrated part of a congress.
A simple rule: choose one or two “must-see” sessions per half day and leave the rest of the time flexible for conversations and the exhibition.
Network with intention
The conversations between sessions are often worth as much as the sessions themselves. ISAPS members practice in more than 100 countries, so a few habits help:
- Book meetings ahead. Message colleagues, mentors and companies before the congress and fix a time and place.
- Go to the social events. The official networking events are designed for the #ISAPSFamily to meet in a relaxed setting.
- Ask about results, not just techniques. How do colleagues explain outcomes to patients? What has helped them convert consultations into procedures?
- Take notes right away. A quick line on your phone after each conversation saves a lot of guessing later.
Use the exhibition hall wisely
The exhibition is where you can try new tools hands-on instead of reading about them. To avoid collecting brochures you will never open, go with a short list of questions:
- Does it solve a real problem in my practice, or is it just new?
- How long does it take to learn, and what support comes with it?
- Can I see a live demo with a real case?
- What do colleagues who already use it say about the results?
Block at least one or two hours for the hall, ideally during quieter moments when exhibitors have more time for you.
Practical tips for Cancún
- Getting there. The Cancun Center sits in the Hotel Zone at Blvd. Kukulcan Km 9, about a 30-minute drive from Cancún International Airport.
- Stay close. Hotels near the venue save time every morning and make it easier to go back and forth between sessions.
- Extend your stay if you can. Tulum, Cozumel and the Riviera Maya are close by and well worth a few extra days.
After the congress: turn ideas into action
The real value of ISAPS shows up in the weeks after you get home. Within a few days of returning:
- Review your notes and pick the two or three ideas you will actually implement.
- Share the highlights with your team and agree on who does what.
- Follow up with the people and companies you met while the conversation is still fresh.
- Tell your patients. A short post or newsletter about what you learned at an international congress builds trust and shows you invest in staying up to date.
