In this episode of \u0e2d\u0e32\u0e23\u0e4c\u0e40\u0e1a\u0e23\u0e35\u0e22 \u0e17\u0e2d\u0e25\u0e4c\u0e04\u0e2a\u0e4c<\/a>, we have present Dr. Jerusa, owner of Supernova Clinic in Porto. She also has an academy to help train future aesthetic doctors and dentists. How Did You Find Out About Arbrea?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

When I first heard about Arbrea Labs, to be honest, I didn’t know anything about you. So I went to your Instagram account<\/a>, and I was intrigued because I noticed that you did facial simulations.<\/p>\n

Let me clarify. I had seen the facial simulations before in the many conferences I have attended through the years. Your solution was different, though. There was no huge equipment or virtual reality headsets on your website. This piqued my interest, and when I learned that you just needed an iPhone or iPad, it seemed incredible to me.<\/p>\n

Your vision of transforming the technology<\/a> into something you can hold in the palm of your hand was amazing to me. A lot of my colleagues work in different clinics or hospitals, so this solution was nothing short of brilliant. Anyone can have it without needing to drag big equipment behind them. Or needing to worry about fragile headsets.<\/p>\n

My first experience with Arbrea’s platform was when I got my iPad and I started using it in the clinic. The first time I used it was during a training session regarding dermal fillers<\/a> on the lower part of the face, so the jawline and chin. The simulation was done on patients to evaluate their side profile, because a lot of them aren’t used to seeing themselves from the side. A lot of my colleagues would agree this is a big gap that we face difficulties because the patients don’t understand immediately. And it’s not easy to explain that they need chin projections or that we need to enhance their facial features, otherwise called profiloplasty.<\/p>\n

That day was a big surprise, because the students were astonished by the results of the simulations. We compared it to a test drive that helps both sides, us and the patients, to better understand what they need. Also, it helps us to understand what the patient’s expectations are and if they are achievable. Plus, we can explain and demonstrate better what’s possible with the treatment.<\/p>\n

The patients were also impressed by the simulations, from the 3D model face<\/a> and changes applied to it. They were fascinated by it. So we decided to implement it into our consultations. It did wonders for us. Because it wasn’t pictures of another patient they were looking at, but their own faces. They got a real feel for what was possible and aligned their expectations. Overall it’s educational and smooths out the process.<\/p>\n

The Importance of the First Consultation<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We do consultations in our Academy as well. We take pictures of the patient and then go ahead with the simulation to help with both the facial analysis and case planning. I always say to my students that the most important consultation is the first one.<\/p>\n

Because we understand what the patient expects from the treatment, we determine what’s achievable. Therefore, the patient understands we care about their well-being by offering the right procedures for them.<\/p>\n

Disillusion of Imagination and Influencers<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Take a moment to imagine that I’m going to inject you with 1 ml of hyaluronic acid in your lips. But you have never had any fillers before, so it’s hard for you to see the outcome. The most obvious choice is to refer to other people who have done the same treatment. However, it’s wrong, because it will look different for you. You cannot compare your results to another person. As everyone’s features are unique.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, that’s what people do. They compare themselves to influencers, neighbors, and friends. This is where the power of Arbrea<\/a>‘s simulators comes into play. With the power of AR, the patients can see how they would actually look after a certain treatment or procedure. It’s like seeing themselves in a mirror, just changing appearance, and deciding if they want that or something else. It’s a game changer for me as a patient. Because not only do I work in this field, but I use these treatments on myself too. And I use the simulator to see if it’s something that works for me.<\/p>\n

The Impact of Arbrea Face in Aesthetic Medicine<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The financial impact<\/a> is a big bonus. How so, you’d ask? Well, when a patient sees clearly the treatment possibilities, a lot of colleagues hold back. They don’t suggest more treatments because they don’t want to scare the patient away. Let’s say the patient wants to do lip fillers, but they clearly might need chin enhancement to get that Facial Harmonization.<\/p>\n

However, I am not afraid to do it. I do the simulation first, then the profile and lips. After I get to the whole treatment journey. I calmly explain that if you only do the lip fillers, your face won’t be in that state of harmony. That’s why we need to start with the chin first and then move to the lips.<\/p>\n

Tracking Progress With Arbrea Face<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Yes, the simulator does help you to track the patient’s progress. And we do it step by step. There are cases that even with the simulation, the patients say that bit might look too much on me. Then after the procedure, they want a new simulation, and they agree that a little more could be added. That’s why the whole tracking process is essential.<\/p>\n

Also, it makes the treatment more tailored<\/a> to the patient’s needs and features. There just isn’t a ‘one-size-fits-all’ when it comes to Facial Harmonization. That’s why I cannot apply the same things to every patient. Around 90% of my patients say that they want natural results, but in reality what’s natural for one patient is not natural for another. Therefore, understanding how the patient sees themselves is crucial to getting the best results for them.<\/p>\n

What I can say is that Arbrea’s platform is an absolute confidence booster. I say this because it’s hard to say to a patient, we need to fill in your chin a little. And that is not surprising at all, because as a professional, I know the difference between injecting 1 ml into their chin, but they don’t. At Supernova, we call it the ‘wow effect’ as a joke, because it’s funny the way the patient reacts. They come asking for one thing, they see themselves in the simulator, and then go, ‘Oh yeah, that’s not what I need.’ They do an immediate 180.<\/p>\n

Patients also say that this technology is super cool and that they have never seen it before.<\/p>\n
