Application

How it works

Interested in how the technology behind the application works? Here is the behind-the-scenes of the Arbrea AR Breast Simulator.

Image Acquisition

The surgeon takes three images from three different angles (left, front, right) of the patient with an iPad device. Once the images are taken, the technology can process the images and eventually create a digital version of the patient.

Avatar Initialization

During the “processing stage”, which takes no more than 10 seconds, the technology detects the main key points (nipple location, shoulders, belly button and clavicule) and computes a digital human avatar on the iPad device

Sculpting

Based on the unique digital avatar computed, the doctor can make changes directly on the patient’s body with a high degree of freedom (i.e. lift the breast, modify the width and increase the volume).

Simulation

Once the surgeon is done sculpting and is satisfied with the result of the patients’ potential breast, he can then simulate the breast augmentation and pre-visualize multiple implant size, projection and diameter.

Visualization

The surgeon can then share the potential results and the patients’ can see potential breast surgery results on their own body in real time. There are two sharing options available with arbrea: screen projection during the consultation and email sharing after the consultation. It is up to the surgeon to decide how he wants to share the results with the patients.
